KATHMANDU: The Armed Police Force (APF) has set up help desks at 122 locations and health desks at 33 places nationwide to ensure the safety and security of citizens during the upcoming Dashain, Tihar, and Chhat festivals.

According to DSP Shailendra Thapa, the deputy spokesperson for the APF, 120 out of 122 help desks are located along the Nepal-India border. The two remaining health desks have been set up along the Nepal-China border.

Similarly, health desks have been opened at 30 locations along the Nepal-India border and at three locations bordering China.

“These initiatives have been carried out in collaboration with security personnel from both India and China, aiming to facilitate the smooth movement of citizens at border points and provide assistance during emergencies,” the APF said in the statement.

According to the APF, 25 help desks are under the Baraha Battalion in Sunsari district, 53 under the Chinnamasta Battalion in Mahottari, two under the Gadhimai Battalion in Makawanpur, two under the Muktinath Battalion in Kaski, 19 under the Bidhyabasini Battalion in Rupandehi, one under the Maheshwori Battalion in Surkhet, and 20 under the Baidhyanath Battalion in Kailali.

The health desks have been set up in border areas of Mahottari, Rupandehi, Sunsari, Saptari, and Kailali districts.
