
KATHMANDU: Devyani International Nepal Pvt Ltd has announced the opening of a ‘Special KFC’ outlet in Nepal employing speech and hearing-impaired women workforce.
Issuing a statement on Sunday, the company said the new outlet in Kalanki is staffed with a passionate and dedicated team of 10 specially-abled individuals well-trained and equipped with skills to manage an entire restaurant. “This groundbreaking initiative marks a significant milestone in Devyani’s KFC journey towards fostering a culture of an inclusive organization and creating equal opportunities for all,” it added in the statement.
Rajat Luthra, CEO of KFC India & Nepal at Devyani International, expressed his joy over the first-ever restaurant operated by an inclusive workforce comprising a majority of specially-abled speech and hearing-impaired women. “It is a significant milestone for Devyani as an organization and we firmly believe that diversity and inclusivity, enrich our mindset towards a community of equals with the new all-women and speech & hearing-impaired team at KFC Kathmandu,” the statement quoted Luthra as saying.
