KATHMANDU: Paramount Motors, the authorized distributor of MG in Nepal, has introduced two new MG electric vehicles – MG 4 and MG Comet – in the Nepali market. While the MG Comet, which is based on Wuling Mini Air, will be imported from India, MG 4 will be brought from China, according to officials of Paramount Motors.
MG Comet
The MG Comet is a small three-door car that delivers a range of 230 km on a single charge. It is powered by a 31.26 KW motor and has a 17.3 kWh battery. According to the company, the battery used in Comet is IP 67 rated which provides high-level protection due to its high water and dust ingress protection ability. It has features like dual front air bags, rear parking sensors, LCD screen, remote central locking, manual AC and heater. Comet will be available in two variants – Play and Pace – and price will start from Rs 1.799 million.
Paramount Motors is offering a warranty of 3 years or up to 100,000 km on high voltage components and 8 years or 120,000 km on battery.
MG 4
MG 4 will be available in two variants Comfort and Luxury. The Comfort variant will be powered by a 51 kWH battery and 99 KW motor, and will be available for Rs 4.149 million. Similarly, the Luxury variant will have a 150 KW motor and 64 kWH battery. MG 4 is a rear wheel drive. The Luxury variant delivers a range of 435 km on a single charge, according to the company. It comes loaded with features like front side air bag, tire pressure monitoring system, seat belt reminder, touchscreen entertainment system and other safety features.
Paramount Motors is offering a warranty of up to 100,000 kilometers or three years on high voltage components and and eight years or 150,000 kilometers on battery.
The company is also investing on building charging infrastructure across the country. According to the company, 19 MG charging stations are already operational. The company is targeting to have 50 charging stations by the end of this year.
