Indian national arrested with two stolen child

KATHMANDU: The Armed Police Force (APF) Border Outpost in Dakshinjhitkaiya on Sunday detained a suspected child trafficker with two stolen children from Amuwa in Devtal Rural Municipality of Bara.

Tabarez Alam (22), a resident of Adharpuar in Murtia-4 of East Champaran District in the Bihar State of India, was apprehended while attempting to cross the border into India. He was carrying a sack containing two children. The children have been identified as the nine-month-old daughter of Shivapujan Mahato and the two-year-old son of Premchand Mahato, both residents of Amuwa in Devtal Rural Municipality-3 of Bara.

“Alam has been handed over to the local unit of Nepal Police for further investigation, and the children have been returned to their respective families,” said DSP Shailendra Thapa, the joint spokesperson for APF.
