517 cases of banking offenses registered in Kaski

POKHARA: Social lending turned into legal disputes because of the economic recession, leading to a notable increase in cases of banking offenses in the previous fiscal year, District Police Office, Kaski, said on Tuesday.

According to DSP Shravan Kumar BK, the spokesperson for the District Police Office (DPO) in Kaski, a total of 517 cases of banking offenses were registered in the district last year. This constitutes about 30% of all criminal cases registered in Kaski during the year.

The cases of banking offenses fall under the jurisdiction of the high court.

Furthermore, the DPO Kaski recorded 421 cases related to offenses against public interest, health, safety, convenience, and morals, along with 165 cases related to suicide.

According to BK, the DPO Kaski registers an average of five cases daily, and a total of 1,734 cases were registered with the DPO in Kaski during the fiscal year 2022/23.
