SC dismisses petition against Rabi Lamichhane

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court’s Constitutional Bench has dismissed a writ petition that sought the removal of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane as a member of the House of Representatives.

Yubaraj Safal filed the petition on May 24, questioning Lamichhane’s citizenship activation process and alleged misuse of a passport. The Election Commission and other agencies were named as defendants in the case.

The Constitutional Bench, consisting of Chief Justice Hari Krishna Karki and Justices Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha, Ananda Mohan Bhattarai, Prakashman Singh Raut, and Sapana Pradhan Malla, reviewed the case and made the decision.
