Gandaki approves policies and programs

POKHARA: The Gandaki Province Assembly has approved the provincial government’s policies and programs for the next fiscal year.

Province Chief Prithvi Man Gurung presented the policies and programs for fiscal year 2023/24 in the provincial assembly on June 4. The assembly endorsed the policies and programs document after three days of discussion.

As per the constitutional provision, provincial governments are required to present the budget for the next fiscal year on June 16.

Due to reduced disbursements from the federal government, the province government is likely to decrease the budget size.

The province government has allocated a budget of Rs 35.9 billion for the current fiscal year, which concludes in mid-July.
