The formation of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee has paved the way for the appointment of the Chief Justice. Although the Judicial Council has recommended the senior-most Supreme Court Justice, Hari Krishna Karki, for the position, the appointment has not been finalized due to the delay in forming the committee.
