Shahi calls for stripping govt employees of trade union rights

KATHMANDU: Chief Whip of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) in the House of Representatives has called for the scrapping of trade unions of government employees.

Participating in the discussion on the government’s policies and programs for the fiscal year 2023/24 on Wednesday, Shahi said trade unions of government employees should be scrapped as many industries in the country have failed due to trade union activities. “I want to request the Prime Minister to take needful steps to make trade unions illegal for government employees,” he added.

He also called on the government to bring necessary laws for the sales and distribution of indigenous liquors in the market.

Shahi also said his party would take to the streets if corrupt and criminals were not brought to book. “Our party will protest in both parliament and on the streets if action is not taken against corrupts and criminals,” Shahi added.
