KATHMANDU: Talks held between Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and the leader of the main opposition, CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, to forge consensus on parliamentary committees have ended conclusively.

“No consensus was reached in the meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on Friday morning,” UML’s Chief Whip Padam Giri said. “Both the leaders agreed that the committees have to be formed at the earliest. But no consensus could be reached,” Giri added.

UML Chairman Oli, however, told media persons that he held talks with Dahal on contemporary issues.

After meeting PM Dahal, Oli met Chief Whip Giri and UML’s deputy leader in the lower house, Subash Chandra Nembang, at the party headquarters.
