KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has issued a show cause notice to the Office of Attorney General (OAG) over its decision to not investigate the misuse of passport by Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane.
A single bench of Justice Hari Prasad Phuyal issued the notice to the Office of the Attorney General on Wednesday. The bench was responding to a writ petition filed by Yubaraj Paudel of Sindhuli.
The OAG on March 20 endorsed the decision of the Nepal Police and District Government Attorney’s Office, Kathmandu to not investigate the misuse of passport by Lamichhane.
Lamichhane is contesting the by-election in Chitwan-2 constituency scheduled for April 23.
