KATHMANDU: Manang Marshyangdi Club (MMC) secured its first win in the Martyrs Memorial National ‘A’ Division League by beating Sankata Club 1-0 at the Dasharath Stadium on Tuesday.
MMC’ took lead in the 52nd minute when Sankata goalkeeper Tikendra Singh Thapa failed to catch Davlatzonov’s powerful shot from outside the 18-yard box. Both sides had chance but failed to convert
In the first half, Sankata wasted a good opportunity to score as MMC defender Prabesh Kunwar saved Sunil Shrestha’s shot from crossing the goal line. Similarly, Ashish Gurung successfully tackled Manish Dangi of Sankata who had reached the scoring position in the 34th minute.
MMC had played a 1-1 draw with Himalayan Sherpa Club in its first match of the league.
Satdobato beats Nepal APF
Satdobato Youth Club secured its second victory in a row by defeating Nepal APF Club 1-0 at the Chyasal Stadium on Tuesday.
William Asiedu scored the only goal of the match in the 55th minute.
In its first game of the league, Satdobato had defeated NRT Club. Nepal APF Club, on the other hand, had defeated Three Star Club in its first match.
Nepal Police Club suffers second defeat
Himalayan Sherpa Club defeated Nepal Police Club 1-0 at the Dasharath Stadium on Sunday.
Defender Amrit Shrestha scored the only goal in the injury time. Himalayan missed a chance to take the lead in the first half when Nishan Subba failed to score from the spot in the 32nd minute.
With this victory, Himalayan has four points from two matches. Meanwhile, Nepal Police Club is yet to earn a point after two matches. Church Boys United, a top-flight debutant, had defeated Police in its first game.
