Debutant Khumaltar makes winning start in ‘A’ Division League

KATHMANDU: Khumaltar Youth Club (KYC) registered its first ever victory in the top flight, defeating Friends Club 1-0 in the opening match of Martyrs Memorial ‘A’ Division League at the Dasharath Stadium on Friday.

Mesuke Oloumou scored the only goal of the match in the 89th. He controlled a long pass from Captain Jaya Gurung and beat few defenders of Friends Club to score a beautiful goal.

Khumaltar was promoted to the ‘A’ Division by finishing second in the ‘B’ Division league last year.

Thirteen teams play in Nepal’s top flight with two bottom-placed team relegated to ‘B’ Division at the end of the season. These teams play 182 matches over
