KATHMANDU: Nepali documentary film ‘God’s Buffalo’ has received ‘Special Jury Mention Award’ at the BANFF Centre Mountain Film Festival in Canada.
The documentary film by Bishnu Kalpit documents the story of a buffalo swept away in the 2021 Melamchi floods. The film was previously awarded at Kathamndu International Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF).
“It is a matter of joy for Nepal and the Nepali film fraternity that a Nepali documentary was selected for such a coveted award in the prestigious film festival being organized for the past 46 years. It would also contribute to tourism promotion,” Kalpit told national news agency RSS.
