KATHMANDU: Doctors attending to Member of the House of Representatives, Chandra Kanta Bhandari, have removed his ventilator support, indicating that the Nepali Congress leader’s health condition is improving.
Bhandari’s assistant, Madhav Neupane, informed that the ventilator support has been withdrawn as Bhandari’s health conditions started improving. He is currently receiving treatment at the National Burn Center in Mumbai, India.
According to Neupane, all of Bhandari’s health parameters were normal this morning. He added that Bhandari has no fever, and the swelling is decreasing.
Bhandari and his mother, Harikala, were injured when their house in Buddhanagar caught fire due to an alleged gas cylinder leakage on Wednesday. Both were immediately rushed to Kirtipur Hospital for treatment. Bhandari was later airlifted to the Mumbai-based hospital for further treatment while his mother succumbed to her injuries.
Bhandari has suffered burns on 25-30 percent of both his hands and legs.
