KATHMANDU: Nepal Sports Journalists’ Forum (NSJF) is organizing the 19th NSJF Pulsar Sports Awards in Kathmandu on March 7.
The event is held annually by the NSJF to honor and recognize the achievements of players and coaches of different disciplines.
Organizing a press meet in Kathmandu on Monday, the NSJF informed that Hansraj Hulaschand & Company, the authorized distributor of Bajaj two-wheelers for Nepal, will sponsor the Sports Awards for the next four years. Abhimanyu Golchha, director of Golchha Organization – the parent company of Hansraj Hulaschand & Company, and Devendra Subedi, NSJF President, signed the sponsorship agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
Speaking on the occasion, Golchha said there is no other platform like the NSJF Sports Awards that felicitates players and coaches. “Sports teaches youth time management and to set goals. Sports help in nation building,” he said, adding: “We are happy to get associated with sports through NSJF.”
The company has been sponsoring the annual sports award for the past 13 years.
According to NSJF, the 19th NSJF Pulsar Sports Awards will recognize excellence in nine different categories. The winners of the Best Player (Man & Woman), Best Young Player, Best Coach and People’s Choice awards will receive a Pulsar motorbike as a prize. The event also features awards in several other categories, including the Parathlete Award, Special Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, and Asian Sports Journalist Award. Additionally, the event will include felicitations of athletes. The winners of these awards will receive a cash prize of Rs 50,000 each, according to the organizers.
NSJF is a forum of sports journalists affiliated with different media outlets in Nepal.
