DHANUSHA: Police have nabbed a youth on the charge of smuggling Nepali banknotes worth Rs 2.4 million from the Nepal-India border area.
Armed Police Force (APF) personnel arrested Umesh Kumar (23) with Nepali banknotes worth Rs 2.4 million hidden in the fuel tank of his motorcycle from Itaharwa in Bideha Municipality-9.
According to Chhinamasta Battalion of APF, Singh was arrested on a tip-off while he was entering Nepal from India.
The APF has handed over Singh to District Police Office, Dhanusha, for further investigation, while it handed over the motorcycle and the seized banknotes to Janakpur Customs Office.
