KATHMANDU: The CK Raut-led Janamat Party has decided to join the next government.
The central committee of the meeting of the party held in Kathmandu on Thursday took the decision to this extent and also endorsed the parliamentary party statute.
According to party leader Santosh Yadav, the party also finalized the list of candidates under the proportionate representation system. “Our central committee meeting convened on Thursday. It endorsed our parliamentary party statute and also decided to join the government,” Yadav added.
Nepali Congress President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba invited Raut to Kathmandu last week and asked him to join his party’s coalition to form the next government.
Janamat Party has gained national party status in just its first electoral appearance. Party chairman CK Raut has been elected to the House of Representatives from Saptari-2 constituency.
Similarly, the party has won five seats under the PR system.
