President appoints ambassadors to Canada, Portugal

KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has appointed former Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Paudyal and Sanil Nepal as Nepal’s ambassadors to Canada and Portugal, respectively.

According to a statement issued by the Office of the President, the appointments were made as per Article 282 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal.

The Parliamentary Hearing Committee endorsed Paudyal’s nomination on November 27, while Nepal’s nomination was endorsed by the committee on November 9.
