KATHMANDU: Twenty-four pieces of artifacts have been sent to Nepal from US.
According to the Embassy of Nepal in Washington, artifacts received from Susan Bradford on April 19 in Maui, Hawaii, have been sent to the Department of Archaeology.
The embassy’s Second Secretary, Uttam Ghimire, had received these artifacts in Maui on behalf of the embassy.
“These artifacts were once part of private collections of Bradford, who voluntarily reached out to the embassy to return these artifacts to Nepal. Most of these artifacts date back to the 17th and 18th century, while one dates back to the 13th century,” the embassy said in a statement. “Bradford herself sponsored the shipping of these artifacts to Nepal.”
The embassy has so far been able to send 63 units of artifacts, including these 24, over the past year, according to the statement.
