KATHMANDU: Nepal Police has recommended the Ministry of Home Affairs for suspension of DSP Thag Bahadur KC who has been founded involved in suspicious activities.
“The Nepal Police headquarters has recommended the home ministry to suspend DSP to facilitate investigation against him,” DIG Tek Prasad Rai, the spokesperson for Nepal Police, said.
Police launched an investigation against KC after finding 35 tolas of gold and Rs 1.8 million in cash from his quarter in Butwal. “As his activity was found suspicious during the initial investigation, we arrested him for detailed investigation,” Rai added.
A team deployed from Kathmandu had taken DSP KC under control from Butwal on Sunday evening following complaints that he had illegally collected money from a gold dealer.
The police headquarters launched an investigation against him after receiving a complaint that he confiscated gold from a gold dealer in November in the name of investigation.
Police sources say KC had demanded Rs 2.5 million from the dealer for the release of gold.
