KATHMANDU: A total of 13 bodies were retrieved from inside a tunnel of the flood-hit Upper Trishuli I Hydropower Project.
According to the Nepali Army, six bodies found entangled in a steel mesh inside Audit-3 tunnel were brought outside the tunnel by Friday noon.
“Seven more bodies were recovered from the tunnel later in the day,” the army said in a statement.
The identity of the deceased has not been established yet.
The bodies were found during a joint search and rescue operation conducted by the Nepali Army and representatives of the project.
A joint team of the Army and project representatives is also carrying out searches inside the tunnel and powerhouse area of the Trishuli 3A hydropower project.
At the Trishuli 3B project, the Army and project representatives used three excavators and a loader to excavate the area around the powerhouse in search of possible victims.
