10 members of rope-fixing team reach the summit of Everest File Photo

KATHMANDU: Ten members of the rope-fixing team reached the summit of Mt Everest at 8:15 pm on Friday, according to the expedition operator Seven Summit Treks. This marks the first Everest summit of the spring season.

Seven Summit Treks was hired by the Expedition Operators Association of Nepal to fix ropes on the climbing route of Everest for the spring season.

Writing a post on its Facebook page, Seven Summit Treks said Dendi Sherpa, Tenjing Gyalje Sherpa, Namgyal Dorje Tamang, Suk Bahadur Tamang, Dawa Rinzi Sherpa, Dawa Sherpa, Rinji Sherpa, Pemba Tashi Sherpa, Pem Dorje Sherpa, and Lakpa Sherpa successfully reached the summit of Mt Everest on Friday evening.

Now that the ropes have been fixed, climbers can make their summit attempts.

The Department of Tourism has permitted 390 climbers from 60 countries to climb the tallest peak in the world this spring.
