KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has strongly objected to the remarks made by Dr Chiranjivi Nepal, an expert advisor to President Ram Chandra Paudel, regarding a decision to include the revised map of Nepal on new banknotes.
After the government decided to print the updated map on the Rs 100 bills, former Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Governor Chiranjivi Nepal, who is an expert adviser to President Poudel, had termed the decision ‘immature’.
Speaking at UML’s parliamentary party meeting on Friday, Oli said he would raise this issue in parliament. “An extremely irresponsible remark has been made against our nationality. The government decided to print Nepal’s updated map on new banknotes. Then we heard comments questioning why it was done to provoke another country. The so-called expert advisor to the President stated that it was printed to provoke that particular country,” Oli said in the meeting. “What kind of people has the President employed as advisors? Should the President follow advice from such people? Is it acceptable for the President to keep such advisors?”
Oli also demanded the immediate dismissal of the advisor from his position.
