KATHMANDU: Nepal will play warm-up matches against the US and Canada to prepare for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) published fixtures for the warm-up matches on Thursday. The matches will be played between May 27 and June 1 across the USA, and Trinidad and Tobago.
A total of 17 teams will play warm-up games, according to the ICC. The matches, however, will not have international T20 status.
According to the fixtures, Nepal will play against Canada at the Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Texas at 10:30 am (local time) on May 27. Similarly, Nepal will play its second warm-up match against the USA at the same venue and time on May 30.
Nepal is pooled in Group D alongside Bangladesh, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and the Netherlands. The Rhinos will begin their T20 World Cup campaign by playing against the Netherlands on June 4, and are scheduled to face Sri Lanka on June 12, South Africa on June 15 and Bangladesh on June 17.
