KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority has registered a corruption case against 12 individuals, including Suresh Sah, the mayor of Jaleshwar Municipality of Mahottari, at the Special Court.
The constitutional anti-graft body has charged them with embezzling Rs 584,637 while concrete paving the Jaleshwar market area.
The CIAA has also made Jaleshwar Deputy Mayor Raushan Khatun, then Chief Administrative Officer Mitra Lal Dhakal, Section Officer Dhirendra Jha, Municipal Legislative Member Sogara Khatun, Ward-1 Chairperson Anil Kumar Jha, Senior Engineer Pawan Kumar Jha, Engineer Rakesh Kumar Chaudhary and Sub-Engineer Dipesh Kumar Sah; and consumer committee chairperson Rakesh Kumar Sah, Secretary Sikendra Chaudhary and Treasurer Santosh Devi defendants in the case.
