CEHRD corresponds again to send details of teachers involved in politics

KATHMANDU: The Center for Education and Human Resource Development (CEHRD) instructed the Education Development and Coordination Units of all 77 districts to send details of teachers directly involved in politics.

The center sent a letter to its district units on Wednesday, seeking details of government teachers directly affiliated to political parties within 15 days.

This is the second time in less than a month that the CEHRD has sought such details from its district offices. It sent a similar letter to the Education Development and Coordination Units on April 28 as well. Likewise, on April 7, it had instructed its district units not to send teachers on deputations and recall those already sent.

“What actions have been taken, as per the prevailing laws, against teachers who are members of political parties, part of the executive committees of political parties, or have general convention representatives of political parties? Additionally, provide details on the number of teachers working outside their appointed schools or sent on deputations without approval from the School Management Committee and the Education Development and Coordination Unit. Also, mention how many of those teachers have been recalled to their respective schools. Please submit a progress report on these matters within 15 days of receiving this letter,” the letter sent by the CEHRD to its district units states.
