22 arrested after mob attacks CG Foods Park

KATHMANDU: An unidentified group attacked the CG Foods Park in Bhainsepati of Lalitpur on Friday, according to Chaudhary Group.

Issuing a press statement, Madhusudan Poudyal, the spokesperson for Chaudhary Group, said the group, which arrived in a bus with registration number Ba 4 Kha 1085 at around 3 pm, also manhandled the employees. “They chanted slogans like ‘Down with the Nepal government’ and also misbehaved with the managers of the Chaudhary Group,” the statement added.

Chaudhary Group has been producing Wai-Wai noodles and other products at the CG Foods Park.

Police have arrested 17 women and five men, including the driver, from the scene. “Our personnel are questioning them,” SSP Naresh Subedi of the District Police Office, Lalitpur, said.
