KATHMANDU: A young woman was shot at in Jhapa district while she was returning home after taking her Class 12 examination on Friday.
According to the District Police Office in Jhapa, Amit Kumar Sah (30), a resident of Siraha district, opened fire at Erika Adhikari (18) at around 12:30 pm.
The incident occurred near the Senior Citizens Building in Damak Municipality-5 when Erika, a resident of Udayapur district, was heading home after appearing in the examination at the Himalayan Secondary School examination center. She is currently undergoing treatment at Lifeline Hospital in Jhapa.
Police have intensified the search for Sah, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar Chand.
