KATHMANDU: A Yeti Airlines flight bound for Kathmandu from Janakpur has been grounded in Janakpur Airport due to technical issues.
The ATR-72 aircraft with registration 9N-AMN landed in Janakpur as per the schedule. It, however, encountered technical issues after reaching the parking bay.
Rajesh Singh, the station manager of Yeti Airlines in Janakpur, confirmed that the flight was halted at the airport due to technical issues in the aircraft. “We were boarding passengers, but the pilot reported that one of the indicator lights failed to illuminate,” Singh told Himal Press. “After the problem was detected, the head office instructed us to ground the aircraft.”
Yeti Airlines has sent a technical team to Janakpur for inspection of the aircraft. Singh said that the plane would only take off after the technical team’s approval.
“Engineers have already arrived at the airport and are currently conducting tests,” Singh said. “The aircraft will only depart from here after they give their clearance.”
