KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DoHM) has said that skies across most parts of Nepal with remain generally cloudy, with scattered rainfall in some areas of Gandaki and Bagmati provinces on Tuesday.
In its weather bulletin, the DoHM said the country is currently experiencing the combined influence of a western disturbance and a low-pressure system formed over the Arabian Sea.
“This afternoon, weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in other hilly regions, while the Tarai areas will see partly cloudy conditions,” it added.
According to the DoHM, there is a chance of moderate rain accompanied by snowfall in some areas of Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces, as well as in a few hilly and mountainous parts of other provinces. Heavy rain with snowfall is also likely in one or two high-altitude and mountainous locations of Gandaki Province, it added.
The DoHM has warned that heavy rain and snowfall in some parts of Gandaki Province could affect daily life, mountaineering, agriculture, and tourism activities. It has urged local residents and travelers in those regions to exercise caution.
