KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chief Whip in the House of Representatives, Mahesh Kumar Bartaula, has said that it would take some time to form a new government.
Speaking to journalists on the parliament building premises on Sunday, Bartaula said that although Nepali Congress (NC) and UML have agreed that UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli will lead the government in the first phase, the two parties have not reached an understanding on sharing of ministerial portfolios yet.
“Since Prime Minister Dahal is scheduled to take a vote of confidence on July 12, we could reach a consensus on sharing of ministries by that evening,” he added. “It could take some time as we are forming a national consensus government.”
