KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stated that Nepal is about to achieve exemplary success regarding transitional justice.
Participating in the discussion on the Bill to Amend the Enforced Disappearances Enquiry, Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act in the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Oli said Nepal will disseminate a message soon that the final phase of conflict management in Nepal has been completed.
“We will successfully convey the message that the final phase of conflict management in Nepal has been completed,” Oli added.
Oli said he hadn’t imagined that the remaining works of the transitional justice would be so quickly. “I had said in my address at the United Nations that we are advancing the peace process as our initiative and will bring it to a conclusion. This is happening soon,” he added.
The CPN-UML Chairperson expressed confidence that the bill would be easily passed after discussions in parliament, as major parties have already forged a consensus on contentious issues in the Bill.
“The bill will be passed after necessary discussions. We are achieving exemplary success in this context,” he added.
