KATHMANDU: Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya has said that counting of first past the post (FPTP) votes will begin from 8 pm on Sunday.
Talking to journalists after casting votes at a polling center in Bhaktapur, Thapaliya said he was hopeful that voters turnout will be around 70%.
“The process of bringing ballot boxes to the counting centers will begin right after the voting ends. Counting will begin at 8 pm,” he added.
He said FPTP votes of the House of Representatives and province assemblies will be counted simultaneously.
According to the Election Commission, the final results will be made public on December 8.
