KATHMANDU: Minister for Home Affairs Ramesh Lekhak has reiterated that he has no involvement of any kind in the visit visa controversy.

Addressing questions raised against him during the meeting of the House of Representatives, amidst protests by Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), on Friday, Lekhak claimed that various allegations were made against him out of political vengeance.

Expressing regret over what he called a deliberate conspiracy against him, he argued that if ministers were to be investigated while constitutional bodies are conducting probes, no minister would remain in office.

While the home minister was speaking, RSP lawmakers surrounded the well and chanted slogans against him.

Lekhak also assured that no actions would be taken to influence the investigation being conducted by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority regarding immigration issues.

He, however, warned of action against those who set up fake victims at party offices and prepared forged complaints against him in the visit visa controversy. He also expressed commitment to fully implementing the agreement reached between the ruling coalition and the main opposition party on this matter.
