KATHMANDU: The local administration of Chitwan has barred the movement of vehicles on the landslide-prone Narayangghat-Muglin road section on Friday night.

Chief District Officer (CDO) of Chitwan, Indradev Yadav, told Himal Press that vehicles will be prohibited on the road section from 7 pm on Friday till 7 am on Saturday due to due to potential risks following continuous rainfall since Thursday evening.

“Major accidents have occurred on this road section as it is difficult to notice landslides during nighttime,” Yadav said. “That is why we have prohibited the movement of vehicles on Friday night.”

According to Yadav, vehicles heading to Kathmandu will be stopped at Ramnagar, while those heading toward Chitwan will be stopped at Mugling.
