DHANUSHA: Five people died when a van carrying a wedding party met with an accident at Birendra Bazaar along East West Highway in Dhanusha district on Saturday morning.
The jeep was returning to Ghmhariya in Pipara Rural Municipality of Dhanusha from Itahari.
The deceased has been identified as S Kumar (11) of Pipara and Rubi Kumari Sah (35) of Mukhiyapatti Musharniya of Dhanusha, Manju Kumari Sah (17) and her sister Sirjana (13) of Sahasaula in Ramgopalur-7 of Mahottari, and van driver Abdul Mansuri (25) of Dhanauji-4 of Dhanusha.
Similarly, Prtika Sah (14) and Kabita Kumari Sah (18) of Bagara in Loharpatti-4 of Mahottari, Sanjaya Sah (35), Arusha Sah (3), Arvan Sah (6), Ayush Kumar Sah (10) of Mukhiyapatti Musharniya-4 of Dhanusha; and Priyanksa Sah (26), Pratika Sah (5) and Anshu Sah (5) of Pipara-2 in Mahottarai were injured in the incident.
The injured are receiving treatment and Madhesh Province Hospital in Janakpurdham, according to SP Basanta Rajaure of the District Police Office, Dhanusha.
