JANAKPUR: Upendra Yadav has been re-elected as the Central President of Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal (JSP Nepal).

Yadav, who has been leading the party since its formation, was elected to the position unopposed.

“Since Yadav was the only candidate for the position, he has been elected unopposed,” a JSP Nepal leader said.

The Unity Convention of JSP Nepal being held in Janakpurdham will elect a 201-member executive committee with 20 office-bearers: one central chairperson, one co-chairperson, five vice-chairpersons, two general secretaries, three deputy general secretaries, seven secretaries, and one treasurer.

Various leaders of the party have registered their candidacies for the positions. Voting for this election will be held later on Wednesday.

JSP Nepal organized the unity convention after some leaders left the party under the leadership of Ashok Kumar Rai to form the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP).
