KATHMANDU: CPN (Unified Socialist) is holding its central committee meeting in Kathmandu from Wednesday.

The meeting will discuss amendments to the party statutes as well as the ideological perspectives for the upcoming general convention, according to party general secretary Ghanashyam Bhusal. “The meeting will also hold discussions on contemporary politics, the party’s organizational structure, and internal disputes in the party, among other issues,” Bhusal added.

According to Bhusal, the meeting will also set criteria for candidate selection for the upcoming National Assembly (NA) election.

Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal will present his political report, and General Secretary Bhusal will present the organizational report in the central committee meeting.

The central committee meeting will continue until December 29.

The party has also decided to hold a national gathering in Kathmandu on January 28-29 for the amendment to the party statute.
