KATHMANDU: United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres is arriving in Nepal on October 29 on a four-day visit.
The cabinet meeting held on Thursday approved the visit, according to Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma, who also serves as the government spokesperson.
Guterres is expected to engage in high-level discussions concerning Nepal’s peace process, climate change, and the involvement of the Nepalese Army in peacekeeping missions.
Secretary General Guterres was earlier scheduled to visit Nepal from October 14 to 18. But he postponed the visit due to the Hamas attack on Israel.
Additionally, the Cabinet has granted approval for the Lower Anun Hydroelectric Project to acquire 100.97 hectares of land and has given the green light for Foreign Minister NP Saud’s US visit, which is scheduled from October 25 to November 2.
