UML’s youth wing holding 10th national convention in Pokhara

POKHARA: The 10th National Convention of the Youth Association Nepal, the youth wing of the ruling CPN-UML, is kicking off in Pokhara from Friday.

Prime Minister and UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to inaugurate the three-day convention at the Amar Singh grounds.

Several UML leaders like General Secretary Shankar Pokharel and Deputy General Secretary Prithvi Subba Gurung are also attending the convention, according to UML’s Kaski District Committee Chairperson Bain Bahadur Adhikari Chhetri.

The closed session of the convention will be held at the Pokhara City Hall.

The convention will elect a 151-member central executive committee, including one chairperson, two vice chairpersons, general secretary, deputy general secretary and four secretaries, according to Himal Gurung, general secretary of Youth Association of Nepal’s Kaski District Committee.

Preparations are underway to elect the executive committee unopposed, say UML leaders.
