UML Secretary Top Bahadur Rayamajhi arrested

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested Member of the House of Representatives and CPN-UML Secretary Top Bahadur Rayamajhi in connection to their investigation against the Bhutanese refugees scam.

Rayamajhi had gone out of contract after an arrest warrant was issued for him on May 3. His son Sandeep, however, was arrested on the same day.

“Rayamajhi was nabbed from Pasikot in the Budhanilkantha area of Kathmandu,” according to Kamal Giri, the press adviser to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha, said.

Rayamajhi is the latest high-profile leader to be arrested for investigation into the Bhutanese refugee scam.
