KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has said that his party is waiting for elections and is ready to seek a national mandate through the ballot.
“We have answered many questions through the party convention. We are now eager to deliver a national verdict through elections. The convention has sent a clear message that we are ready for that,” Oli said, addressing an event organized by the party on Tuesday.
Oli also said no one can defeat democracy. “Democracy is invincible and undefeated. No one can defeat it, and no one can win over it. Democracy itself wins,” he said.
The UML chair also took a swipe at the agreement to project Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah as the prime ministerial candidate of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).
“We are waiting for elections, but they have already made someone prime minister,” Oli said. “Whether it happens on March 5, in April, or next December, we are waiting for elections.”
