KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has questioned the failure of security agencies to prevent Tuesday’s arson and vandalism in different parts of the country.
“The state’s security agencies must be reviewed as to why they could not act effectively to stop such widespread destruction,” the UML Secretariat said in a statement issued Thursday.
The party also demanded a thorough investigation into how such violent and destructive incidents occurred, despite not being part of the organizers’ plans.
“It is the party’s clear position that those who planned and carried out the destruction must be brought within the ambit of the law,” the statement added.
