UML seeks PM Dahal’s resignation

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML obstructed the parliamentary session on Wednesday, opposing a recent statement made by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, where he claimed that an Indian-origin businessman worked hard to make him Prime Minister. The party also sought the resignation of PM Dahal.

Mahesh Bartaula, the UML Chief Whip in the House of Representatives, stated that the UML will strongly raise the issue in parliament. “We discussed the matter in our parliamentary party meeting on Wednesday. Since the Prime Minister himself claimed that he was made Prime Minister by India, we have decided to oppose his statement accordingly,” he added. “His statement has insulted the country, the people’s verdict, and the parliament. Therefore, he is unfit to continue as the executive head of the country.”

During the launch of a book entitled ‘Roads to the Valley: The Legacy of Pritam Singh in Nepal’ by Kiran Deep Sandhu in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Dahal stated that “Singh worked hard to make me Prime Minister.”
