KATHMANDU: Lawmakers of CPN-UML have taken their seats on the opposition benches in the House of Representatives.
The UML has reached an understanding to form a ‘national consensus’ government and has already withdrawn its support from the government.
Following the withdrawal of support by the UML, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has decided to seek a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives on July 12.
The NC and UML have agreed to lead the government by turns. As per the understanding reached between the two parties, UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli will lead the government for the first one and a half years, while NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba will be at the helm until the next election.
