KATHMANDU: CPN-UML lawmaker Kiran Kumar Sah has demanded the dismissal of Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Rajkumar Gupta, who is also from the UML.
Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Monday, Sah demanded an impartial investigation into bribery charges against Gupta after removing him from the post.
“It is an insult to democracy for the government to act as if it has not heard what everyone else has,” Sah said. “Through this House, I demand that Minister Gupta be dismissed and an impartial investigation be conducted against allegations made against him.”
Sah questioned why the government was hesitating to act even though various media outlets have reported on an audio clip allegedly implicating Minister Gupta in a bribery deal.
