KATHMANDU: CPN-UML has decided to call on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal to pave the way for a new government.

UML’s Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali said that UML’s Secretariat meeting held on Tuesday decided to request Prime Minister Dahal on Wednesday to clear the path for a new government.

The meeting also decided to call on all political parties to form a government of national consensus.

UML’s Secretariat convened a day after the Nepali Congress and UML struck a deal to oust Prime Minister Dahal and lead the government by turns.

UML, however, has neither withdrawn support extended to Dahal, nor recalled its ministers.

Prime Minister Dahal has indicated that he will not step down and rather undergo a floor test.
