KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress has appointed Umesh Shrestha as the party’s Treasurer, nearly two years after its general convention.
NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba made the nomination on Sunday as per Section 21(4) of the Nepali Congress Statute, according to a statement from the Chief Secretary of the party’s Central Office.
Shrestha, a businessman with interests in education, hospitality, and other sectors, had contested the 2022 House of Representatives election from Chitwan-2 but faced defeat.
