UK, US, EU greet Nepal on National Day

KATHMANDU: The United Kingdom, the United States of America and the European Union have greeted Nepal on the occasion of Constitution Day and National Day 2024.

King of the United Kingdom Charles III extended his greetings to President Ram Chandra Poudel on the occasion of the National Day. “As you and the people of Nepal celebrate the special occasion of your National Day, my wife and I have great pleasure in converying our heartfelt congratulations to Your Excellency and the Nepali people,” a message of King Charless III to President Paudel reads. “I value the bond between our nations, and hope tha tour countries can continue to work closely toegether on important global issues, whether they be peace and prosperty, or environment and climate change, which will benefit our future generations for years to come.”

Similarly, US Secretary of State Anthony J Blinken has congratulated Nepali people on the occasion of Constitution Day. “The United States greatly values our 77 years of friendship with Nepal. We are proud of our joint efforts to strengthen people-to-people ties, boost economic growth through initiatives like the debt-free partnership with the Millennium Challenge Corporation, promote justice, and uphold democratic principles,” Blinken said in a statement. “We remain committed to working with Nepal to increase its climate resilience and advance its transition to clean energy. We look forward to our continued close collaboration in the years to come.”

The Delegation of the European Union in Nepal also extended its best wishes to the government and people on Constitution Day. “The Delegation of the European Union in Nepal remains committed to supporting Nepal’s journey towards a more democratic, inclusive, and prosperous future. Together, we can achieve great things!,” the delegation said in a social media post.
